Location: Spanish Town and the Baths, Virgin Gorda
This morning, after a long night of heavy rain, our crew got an extra 15 minutes of sleep while we raised anchor and set sail for Coppermine. After a quick history lesson, both Portlandia and Return of the Macks climbed the cliffs and took in in the beautiful view. We scanned the beach and picked up around a bag and a half of garbage. Our crew took a short walk to another nearby beach and filled roughly six bags. Beezy gave us a talk about all the seven different kinds of plastic. Back on our boat, we sailed into Spanish town and had shore time. We all had a chance to use our phones and Wi-Fi. Our final activity of the day was motoring to The Baths. We had a great time meandering and swimming through the rocks and eventually found the perfect jumping rock. Most of us made the three and a half foot drop. On the way back, in the dingy, we saw our first sea turtle, which is a perfect sign for our turtle catching days to come. Sailing back to our anchorage in Savannah Bay, the crew sang the Star Spangled Banner at the top of our lungs for the world to hear. The chef and sous chef of the day prepared an amazing chili dinner.
