Location: Puerto Viejo/San Jose

We woke up early today to get on the road back to San Jose. Some important bridges on the main roads were destroyed in the flooding, so we had to take the long way home. We had no idea if it would take us four hours or eight hours to get home, but it ended up being about a six-hour bus ride. We played cards, talked and slept to pass the time. It was definitely a long day, but we missed our host families and just wanted to get home. Even though the ride was long, we had an amazing view of the mountains along the way. The weather was very nice until we got close to the city, and then it rained again. It was all worth it to go to the Caribbean coast. Then we found a place to eat and call home to let our parents know that we had made it back safely.
