Location: Los Lagos & Termales Del Bosque
Today we left our host families for the final time and went to the Costa Rica hot springs. We went to the Los Lagos resort for the day, hiked the mountain to get a view of the volcano, and hung out at the pool and natural hot springs. Before leaving, we went to see the three crocodiles, turtles, and frogs they had on the property! Then we went to Termales Del Bosque, the hotel we were sleeping at, and went to the hot springs that were in the middle of the jungle. One of the pools was a whopping 48 degrees Celsius; Kenta was the only one who went in all the way. The next day, we woke up to the surprise of going horseback riding! The ride was pleasant and peaceful, trotting through the rain-forest and enjoying the view from atop the hill. Then we rode back to San Jose, where we are staying at a hotel near the airport. Most of us leave tomorrow morning at 4 am. I can’t believe how quick these three weeks have gone, I have learned so much; I will miss Costa Rica, my peers I experienced the trip with, and the people I met along the way. Thanks for reading along during our volunteer opportunity in Costa Rica!
Hi Karen.
