Location: Marina Cay
This morning, I woke up to the smell of BZ, making chocolate chip pancakes. This surprise was super awesome because originally, we were supposed to have breakfast burritos instead. The pancakes were very good, and it was a nice start to the day.
After a pretty chill morning, we sailed from Anegada to Tortola. As skipper, I was able to drive the boat for a while, and it was very fun and relaxing. Thanks to BZ’s DJing skills, we were listening to some sick jams and the 2 and a half hours went by very fast.
In Tortola, the Rebuilding Island Life people departed for the day and rest of us, the Preserving Paradise gang, went snorkeling. The snorkeling experience was my favorite part of the day. A huge school of thousands of small fish circled around us and covered the reef below us like a moving blanket. Then, we spotted a lionfish and went back to the boat.
We then left the bay and sailed into another inlet to anchor for the night, where the Rebuilding Island Life people came back from helping rebuild a mango farm. Rumor had it that Kris, who helps run the SeaMester program, was having dinner with us. We decided to dress up in our nicest clothes and host a fancy dinner for him. Zoe and Olivia cooked a dinner that included tortellini, gnocchi, garlic bread, and salad. It was very good and one of the best dinners so far. In the meantime, we lost a dinghy but one of Ewak’s skippers, Gwen, drove it back to our boat.
Now that dinner is over, Kris just left, and we are supposed to do an activity called LifeWorks. Being my first year on this trip, I do not know what to expect, and I don’t really know what the activity is itself. However, I am excited to find out, and I am also excited about whatever will unfold during our activities tomorrow.
As always, remember: Live like Brum Brum
