Location: Poas Volcano and Hotel Aeropuerto
Today is our last day in Costa Rica, and a sad gloom hung over our group as we headed to the Poas Volcano. We left our host families and took a small hike in a cloud forest to see the volcano, but weren’t fortunate enough to see the crater, as it was covered by thick clouds. We then headed to the fabulous hotel where we had a great meal and wrote goodbye notes to each other on note cards. We had a great journey, and not only were we able to explore Costa Rica but new parts of ourselves too. We learned so much about cycles of poverty and how we can play a part in helping communities rise out of that poverty. This experience has been quite a journey, filled with important lessons that we’ll take with us wherever we go.
