Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to the internet throughout the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and program at hand. Day 1 (July 16) – Fly day Day 2 (July 17) – Student arrival in Bangkok; Student rest/downtime after hotel check-in Day 3 (July 18) – Morning introduction to the Duang Prateep Foundation (DPF); Klong Toey walking tour; Afternoon departure for Baanmaichailane Resort with Klong Toey youth; Evening cultural exchanges Day 4 (July 19) – Cultural exchange activities with Klong Toey youth; Ecology and environmental lessons around the resort; Return to Bangkok Day 5 (July 20) – Visit the Klong Toey Market to purchase ingredients; Thai cooking lesson; Afternoon handicraft workshop with the DPF Day 6 (July 21) – DPF Kindergarten service including parade walk through the community, traditional Thai sports, and painting of the school walls and fence Day 7 to 8 (July 22 to 23) – Elder Citizen Project including home visits in the Klong Toey; Group and elders visit three important temples in the Chachoengsao Province Day 9 to 10 (July 24 to 25) – Painting & Garden Renovation at the Suvannaprasit Community Children’s Developing Center; Lessons/demonstrations of Thai traditions including the “Temple” Fair, Songkran Water Festival, Thai cooking and craft making Day 11 (July 26) – Downtime and Bangkok sightseeing Day 12 to 13 (July 27 to 28) – Fire Control & Prevention Project; Student training of fire prevention and emergency protocols enacted within the Klong Toey community; Lifeworks student pairing with local youth to teach the life-saving skills; Departure for the New Life Project (Kanchanburi Center) Day 14 to 18 (July 29 to Aug 2) – Service days at the DPF New Life Project (Kanchanburi Province); Activities include teaching English, leading sports activities for youth, rice planting/farming, arts/crafts activities, youth/school projects, cultural exchanges, elephant trekking, Krasae cave and Saiyoknoi waterfall tours, Loy Krathong demonstration, and more; Return to Bangkok Day 19 (Aug 3) – Downtime and Bangkok sightseeing Day 20 (Aug 4) – Lifeworks and DPF closing activities; Farewell party Day 21 (Aug 5) – Bangkok shopping; Fly day
