Location: Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda
The day started early this morning, waking up around 6 AM. With some fun tunes playing in the background, we all gathered outside and ate some breakfast. After breakfast, we got ready and headed over to Virgin Gorda and took a cab to Little Rainbow, a school on the island. Everyone quickly got to work painting a mural on the wall, and a playground set a previous GoBeyond group had built. It was amazing to see the progress we made in just a few hours. Some of us got to talk to the kids that were in school for a little bit which was fun. Their smiles and high energy levels inspired us to work our hardest for them to have a great schoolyard. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we all had a great time. When we got to the boat, we were able to take our first freshwater shower in preparation for tonight’s barbecue with all of Action Quest. The burgers were amazing, and it was really fun to listen and dance to DJ Heavy Beats. When we got to our boat at the end of the night, Shaun our third staff member had finally arrived after a fantastic three weeks in Australia running another GoBeyond program. We are all excited to see what we do next!
