Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Today was eventful! We woke up bright and early at 6 AM. After a little breakfast and orientation, we were on our way! It was so exciting to leave the dock. It was really windy so that we couldn’t take the swim test around the boat as usual. Instead, we motored to a pool in Road Town and took the swim test with the other GoBeyond boat. Afterward, we had sandwiches for lunch. Next, we traveled over to the Virgin Gorda. It was a long and rocky ride, and Pardis experienced some seasickness. It took two hours to get to the Virgin Gorda, but it was so cool to drive the boat. After we anchored the boat, we went to the beach for a swim. The water was so blue and clear. There were also a lot of rocks on the ground. We jumped off and on the boat for ocean showers, and then had dinner that was prepared by our chefs. We ended the night with all of the GoBeyond students and talked about the program. We can’t wait for our first service day tomorrow!
