Location: Cairns
This trip has been a life-changing experience not only for me but for my peers. We got to spend our last day whitewater rafting and splashing along the Tully river through one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world – older than the Amazon! It was a full day of fun on the river surrounded by beautiful forests, ancient volcanic rock walls, and waterfalls. Our boat even passed under one of the waterfalls flowing into the river and showered us with a refreshing wall of water. By the end of our rafting trip down the river, we were so worn out from the adventure that we all passed out on the bus ride back to Cairns. We then went out for one last family dinner at a restaurant called Thai Coins, which was delicious and a very nice last meal to celebrate the trip. For me personally, I just want to give appreciation for the counselors and all my friends for giving me memories I will never forget.
