Location: Norbulingka and Amritsar
We’ve had a long day and and I thought I’d give the students a break from the blog by writing a short description of our day. We started the day with an alfresco breakfast at the beautiful gardens of Norbulingka. Then we said our goodbyes to Sophie and Henry who are staying for the second program and had a quick lunch before heading to the Guyto Monastery, home to His Holiness the 17th Karmapa. We were lucky enough to hear a prayer session at the monastery before embarking on our 5 hour drive to Amritsar. After a sleepy and scenic drive, we had a delicious Indian dinner at our hotel and headed out to visit the Golden Temple, the holiest site for Sikhs. Everyone was exhusted by the time we returned and headed off to sleep since we have a morning flight to Delhi the next morning!
