Location: Townsville
We started the day off early with a 6:30am wake-up and packed up the rest of our bags on the boat. After thanking and saying goodbye to Mal and Tom, we made our way to the bus station to head to our next stop. During the 4 hour bus ride to Townsville, some of us slept or listened to music to pass the time. Once we arrived, we settled into the hostel and checked out the common area with the pool table and hammock. Each room has four to a room and luckily the girls’ room has a bathroom and shower attached. To enjoy the sunny weather and stretch our legs, we all walked to the beach and got some gelato. After the past few rainy days on the boat, it was nice to soak up the sun. Then, to get snacks and food for dinner we headed to the grocery store and stocked up. We decided on ramen for dinner so it was quick and easy to make in the communal kitchen. After playing pool while our food was cooking, we settled down and had a nice dinner on the picnic benches together. Once we cleaned up our dishes, some of us joined game night where we played Mario Kart and board games with the others staying in the hostel. After our early morning, we were all ready for bed and had a good night’s sleep in our own beds.
