Hey guys! Don’t worry. We are all still on the boat. Last night, I got a GREAT night of sleep, and Amelia and I woke up to Captain Riley hanging above us in the air in his hammock! Breakfast was cereal and the best cantaloupe EVEERRR (Cookie you would love it). After breakfast, we had a meeting with the whole fleet, which is about 105 kids, and we went over some safety stuff. It was nice to be able to see all the different people on the other boats.

Finally, we set sail. It was a long day at sea. All the shippees were sitting on the deck, and Lia and I fell asleep. Amelia and Maya took turns steering the boat. We motored for about 3 hours to this bay called Muskmelon Bay. We had some yummy deli sandwiches prepared by Amelia, the chef, and brought up to the deck by Coco, the gopher. Once the dishy pit was cleaned up (Lia, Maya, and Annabelle), we jumped in the water for our swimming test. It was actually really fun… 6 laps around the boats (plus both dinghies) and 10 minutes treading water! It was fun because the music was being blasted. The water was gorgeous (Ima you would love it). Ella, Coco, Lia, and some others got stung by a mysterious creature, but whatevs.

After that, we learned about sailing from Siena and Helouise. This was so cool. I got to work on the lines. We sailed for four hours, and we learned so much sailing lingo—tacking, 40/40, etc. I might have fallen asleep again… We snacked on a lot of Pringles.

We got to Mountain Point and were able to anchor the boat. The ocean shower was definitely my favorite part of the day. It made me realize that we were not at home and we were actually living on a boat. Surprisingly, I felt extremely clean after! Dinner was amazing, thanks to Amelia, Siena, and Heloise. After we were done with our sloppy joes, we did something called Squeeze, where we went around saying our appreciation of the day and answering the question from the skipper.

Question of the day — Would you be a fruit or vegetable, and which one would you be?

Pretty sure we are about to watch videos about tagging sea turtles, and we will talk to you guys tomorrow!
