Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to internet throughout the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and program. June 25 – Fly day; Welcome and orientation session June 26 – Intro and walking tour of La Carpio; Indigenous village of Quittirrissi visit; Demonstration by Juan Sanchez June 27 – Community service day at the “Finca” (making bird feeders for the property) June 28 to 29 – Community service days at San Miquel community school (building a small classroom for the kindergarten, mural painting, cross-cultural interaction with the children) June 30 – Departure for the Atlantic coast; Visit to the Cabecar Indigenous Reserve and service July 1 – Community service day at the Cabecar reserve (painting the school lunchroom and clinic); Visit the ocean for a swim and relaxing evening July 2 to 3 – Whitewater rafting/ziplining excursion; Transfer to Piedades and introduction to host families July 4 – Community service days at San Miquel community school (building a small classroom for the kindergarten, mural painting, cross-cultural interaction with the children) July 5 to 7 – La Carpio service days including light construction, mural painting, and working with children to promote reading and cross-cultural education July 8 – Camp/nature day at the Finca with the children of La Carpio; Afternoon Doka coffee farm visit July 9 – Departure for the Pacific Coast; Swimming and rainforest visit July 10 – Community service at a wildlife rescue center; Return to La Carpio for more interaction with the children July 11 and 12 – Student choice projects/poverty reduction program in La Carpio July 13 – Poas volcano and hot springs visit July 14 – Horseback riding; Lifeworks closing program July 15 – Fly day
