Welcome to the 2013 Galapagos/Ecuador blogs! Below is a little bit about the staff that will be leading this summer. Enjoy!
Chris graduated from Stanford University and received his master’s degree from the University of Miami. Since 2008, Chris has worked for Sea|mester, ActionQuest, and Lifeworks programs – leading young people on trips across the world including Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Maldives, South Africa, Brazil, French Guyana, Dominica, Barbados, Saba, Azores, Greece, Italy, and France. In his spare time, he enjoys diving, sailing, surfing, rock climbing, traveling and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Maria is an experienced educator and avid traveler. A graduate of UCLA and NYU, Maria has been teaching for the last eight years, working with teenagers in New York City, New Mexico, and San Diego. Born in Mexico, her obsessive curiosity about people and culture has led her across the globe, including travels to Tibet, Nepal, France, Poland, Ecuador, Peru, and Nicaragua. When she’s not busy sharing her love for life and books with students, Maria enjoys hiking, woodworking, and cooking for others.
Stephanie has been collecting stamps in her passport almost non-stop since first falling in love abroad with the neotropical rainforest of Costa Rica. She’s been working most recently as an environmental educator way out in the rural villages of Senegal as part of her 27 months of service as a Peace Corps Volunteer. With a biology degree from Brandeis and work experience that covers turtle rescue, urban farming, and scientific research, Stephanie is so excited to share all she can with the talented Lifeworks students she works with during the summertime.
