Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today we arose at 6:30 to the sound of rigging and a rooster without an ounce of good timing in its body. We ate a nutritious breakfast of assorted cereals and fruit then had 2 hours of downtime before the day officially got underway. The director of the program, Mike, got everyone together and talked about safety, responsibility and even how to work the toilets. We then got ready to head out to sea and purchased some extra snacks by purchasing Nutella, and vast quantities of chips ahoy cookies. After a 2-hour sail, we arrived at the bight at Norman Island. A quick swim test led up to a snorkel trip to the caves on the island. At the caves, we saw a variety of different species including squid, urchins and even a small stingray. We came back to the boat for a shower and dinner of Sloppy Joes, corn and mashed potatoes. Finally, we did an introduction to Lifeworks forum before bed.
