Location: Delhi

Our first day in India was spent in New Delhi fighting our jetlag, which was a memorable experience. We all introduced ourselves in the morning over hot tea and traditional Indian breakfast foods and headed off to see Askshardham (an ornate and beautiful Hindu Temple). We then visited the Jama Masjid, which is the largest mosque in India, and the second largest mosque in the world. It was really fun to admire the stunning architecture and interact with the local children there. On our way back to our hotel, we encountered the infamous Delhi traffic that we had all been expecting. The lively chaos and sweltering heat, while tiring, was a unique and enjoyable introduction to such an amazing country. We are looking forward to all of our volunteer work overseas in this incredible place.
