Location: Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke

Today we started the day with a quick sail over to Cane Garden Bay, Tortola. Once there, we met up with four other Action Quest boats and went to an abandoned building that was destroyed during Hurricane Irma. It was a big project, but many hands made for light work. When we arrived at the building, it was shocking to see how much destruction had occurred during the hurricane. We finished clearing out as much stuff as we could before 12:00, and I was helping out in a room that was cleared completely. We filled four dumpsters full of debris. It was so rewarding to walk away from that building and seeing how much better it looked compared to when we started. When we got back to the boat, we all jumped in to clean ourselves off and got ready for shore time. Nell, Maren, Selma and I went to this really good restaurant for lunch and got some more snacks for the boat. We then drove over to Sandy Spit to go snorkeling hoping to find some lionfish. One of the groups found three lionfish which was pretty cool. After that, we drove back over to Jost Van Dyke for the night. We had Thanksgiving for dinner which was made by Nell and Maren, and it was super good. Overall, it was a very fun day, and I can’t believe that we are already 11 days into the trip.
