Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Day 2: Henry
Welcome to the first real day of being in the British Virgin Islands! Today we had wake-ups around seven and had breakfast; on today’s menu was cereal. After the dishy pit, it was time for our chat with Mike (camp director) about guidelines and how to maximize the fun in our experience. After that, it was time to finally leave the docks. Charlie, Chase, and I caught lines and untied fenders, and we were on our way! While underway, Chase and Charlie learned how to coil a line up and picked it up very fast 😉. On our way to Guana Island (a private resort), where everyone but Kiaan and Gray sat on the front of the boat and enjoyed the water splashing over the bow, while the other two caught up on some much-needed sleep. Once we got to Guana, we had sandwiches for lunch, and then it was time for the swim test, which was five laps around the boat and 10 minutes of treading water. Everyone passed with “flying colors.” We then disembarked from Guana, with me driving. After we cleared into the Sir Francis Drake channel, we raised sails with Elly trimming in the main halyard and Maeve on the main sheet, and for their first time, they crushed it. Then it was jib time, we had Addie on the furling line and Reese’s pieces on the jib sheet, and they also smashed it. Once we got to Mountain Point, we dealt with some silly tourists not being thankful, and leader Joey maneuvered around them. We then watched Stella show off her Rafe Cameron flag, which now hangs in the salon. Once we wrapped up showers, we had dinner with Jake, which was sloppy joes. We then cleaned up and are now getting ready for Go Beyond chat and dive chats tonight. See you guys tomorrow.

P.p.p.p.s To Merin’s mom: She put on a metric ton of sunscreen, and she has a very, very “minor” burn.
P.p.p.p.p.s To Charlie’s parents: he loves you guys.
P.p.p.p.p.p.s To my parents: I miss you guys.
