Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to the internet over the course of the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and the program at hand. Please do not call our office regarding these trip logs, as the office does not control the postings or the content of the updates. Thanks very much for your understanding!
Note: The group’s primary accommodations include Llaqta Hotel (Lima), Selina Cusco Saphi (Cuzco), Tika Wasi (Ollantaytambo), and Wiracocha Inn (Aguas Calientes).
Day 1 (July 13) – Miami to Lima – Student fly day; Overnight in Lima and initial safety briefing to Peru
Day 2 (July 14) – Lima to Cuzco – Morning flight to Cuzco; Student orientation, rest, and Cuzco city tour
Day 3 (July 15) – Cuzco – Morning community service at the Santa Theresa elderly home; Afternoon Saxywoman and Tambomatchy Horseback Tour
Day 4 to 5 (July 16 to 17) – Cuzco – Project orientation and community service days at Casa Mantay (home for adolescent mothers)
Day 6 (July 18) – Cuzco – Community service day at Santa Theresa elderly home
Day 7 (July 19) – Cuzco – Community service day at the Santa Theresa orphanage (center for the disabled)
Day 8 (July 20) – Cuzco to Ollantaytambo – Pisaq tour, llama farm, market visit, and mountain biking in the Urubamba Valley
Day 9 (July 21) – Ollantaytambo – Stand-up paddle boarding (Piuray Lagoon), yoga, and Chinchero textile workshop demonstration
Day 10 to 15 (July 22 to 27) – Ollantaytambo – Community service days with MySmallHelp charity organization (construction and work with kids)
Day 16 (July 28) – Ollantaytambo – Huerto Paraiso tour (coffee, chocolate, beekeeping, pottery demonstrations)
Day 17 to 18 (July 29 to 30) – Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu excursion including shopping and hot springs visit
Day 19 (July 31) – Ollantaytambo to Cuzco – Whitewater rafting excursion; River cleanup service project
Day 20 (Aug 1) – Cuzco to Lima – Transfer to Lima; GoBeyond closing program activities and final dinner
Day 21 (Aug 2) – Student fly day from Lima to home
