Wake up at 8:00 to knock on everyone’s doors — that how this day began for me, the last morning in Dharamsala. We grabbed our bags following a delicious breakfast prepared at the monastery and trekked down to the taxi. I discovered that our bags weigh a lot as I carried mine and some of the girl’s bags down. So we loaded up and headed to Norbulingka, a Tibetan institution dedicated to preserving Tibetan art and culture. We settled into our comfy rooms (which are nice compared to the monastery) and went for coffee and lunch at Hummingbird Cafe. We all had grilled cheese and French fries for lunch and were so happy to have some simple food like home. We then took a tour of the institution and purchased some handmade Tibetan items for our loved ones back home. Uttam, Fiona, Allie and I went to the local monastery to take in the sights. It was amazing. We ended our day with local pizza, and the girls tried to order ice cream from room service only to find out its closed. Too bad. So as we lay down to get some sleep before our day of travel I am reflecting on how this trip was and how quickly it went by. I have loved this trip, and it has helped me figure out my first year of college. We miss all our family back home and can’t wait to see everyone.
