Welcome to the Lifeworks Peru blogs! Below is a little bit about the staff that will be leading this summer. Enjoy!
Dan Meyer – Dan has been active in the field of experiential education since 2000. Since that time, Dan has facilitated hundreds of groups as an environmental educator, a wilderness trail guide, high and low ropes challenge course facilitator, a youth-at-risk counselor, and, of course, as an international service-adventure guide for Lifeworks. Dan is a dedicated academic and holds his Masters in Experiential Education, and an avid traveler with countless stories from North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Dan is responsible for the coordination of all operational aspects of our programs and aims to deliver the very best experiences for Lifeworks students.
Bridget McClarty – Bridget is an avid adventurer. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a wildlife biologist in Australia, southern Africa, the Canadian Arctic, and the Rocky Mountains. She taught senior biology and junior high science for several years before migrating to her other passion: experiential outdoor education. Some favorite personal adventures include paddling wild Arctic rivers, studying elephants in Botswana, ski traversing in the Coast Mountains, teaching SCUBA diving in the Philippines, rock climbing in the southwest desert, catching rare glimpses of wolverines, and eating her way through India.
Anna Cortey-Marquès – Originating from Spain, Anna studied Translation and Interpretation in Barcelona and Germany, where she started her career as a devoted language teacher. Passionate about cultural diversity, she spends every summer promoting positive social interaction through language worldwide. She has extensive experience both guiding students abroad and leading cultural, educational and sports activities. As an adventurer, she is active, happy, in love with the planet and its peoples. She feels delighted to merge her hobbies with her job, and can’t wait for her next summer with Lifeworks!
