Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
I woke up this morning and was thinking about the people I missed back home, which is a battle I’m going to fight throughout this whole trip. I also saw our group start to mingle and get to know each other more, which was really nice to see. We took another sail to Savannah Bay and Virgin Gorda, and I got to man the helm, which was a very memorable experience for me. We also learned to tie multiple different knots, which will be helpful. My main goal for this trip is to have as many experiences like that as possible. We had a goal-setting exercise today, and my biggest personal goal is to stop comparing myself to others and be more comfortable with myself. I think that this is a manageable goal to achieve by the end of the trip, which would definitely benefit my life outside of this trip as well. The exercise was a very reflective experience. I think this trip will foster a lot of introspection, and I am excited to watch myself grow as a person. Overall, I am really motivated to grow and see our group evolve into a more united body. I really miss my girlfriend, my friends, and of course my parents!
