Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today was one of the most exhilarating days of the entire session three (Day 14, Rhone day). We started off the day with great vibes by doing the wobble and listening to Soulja Boy. We then moved to the stern of the boat to have some tasty breakfast(cereal). After this, we went to the bow of the boat to take the dive gear out and set up our scuba gear. Through it all, everyone had smiles on their faces. Now that all open water divers (Stella, Addie, Kiaan, Grey, Reese, and I) were certified, we went to one of the most popular wrecks, the Rhome. Once we got dressed in our scuba gear, we moved to the stern, and we did our giant Stride into the ocean. Then we swam to the mooring line through a strong current. Our dive instructor then met us there. We then descended, and right away, we were met with a giant structure also known as the Rhone. After seeing so many cool different species of fish, such as octopus, pufferfish, yellow fin Jack, and three barracudas, we made our safety stop for 3 minutes and then ascended onto the boat. Once we got back on the boat, we moved over to Glad to be here, where we took our tests for sailing to get our competent crew certificate for basic sailing, while Chase and Henry took their advanced sailing exams. We then listened to the same reggae and country music for the 14th time this trip before heading back to our own boat for lunch. After this, we began sailing and had a great time, and Merin and Maeve had a quick nap. Then we had a quick ocean shower and trivia before some lovely pasta with a baguette. After this beautiful dinner, we squeezed in where I was the skipper and asked the question, “What’s the scariest thing in the ocean?” We then relaxed for the rest of the day.
