Location: Anegada

This morning we had the opportunity to get food at the port, and we went all out. I saw Oreos, cake batter, candy, ice cream, and anything that you can think of. We also got our phones back during that one hour period and were able to quickly catch up with our families before we began our journey to Anegada. I was skipper of the day, which meant that I had to drive the boat. I was extremely nervous at first, but I have to say it was really fun once I figured it out. After arriving, we had the pleasure of eating grilled cheeses, prepared by our two wonderful chefs and sous-chefs of the day, Dylan, and Athina. Post lunch, we split up into different beach clean-up groups, and all piled into a taxi. My group stopped at cow wreck beach – a beautiful part of the island that was filled with piles of trash. Unfortunately, we were not able to pick it all up, despite my best efforts, so we were assigned to look out for certain items like flip flops, toothbrushes, and more. On our two hour walk, my group encountered some crazy trash items, beautiful clear water, and nurse sharks! Even though we were essentially lugging around trash for hours, I had so much fun talking to other GoBeyonders and looking at the beautiful scenery. Our group was the last group to get picked up, so we all hung around an empty restaurant. We all gave the slackline our best shot and talked until the sun started to set. I can honestly say that was the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen in my life. We had the perfect view, and the colors of the sky changed every couple of minutes, in short, it was amazing. After an amazing day, I am exhausted but very excited to celebrate Tara’s half birthday with brownies!! Hi, mom and dad love you!
