Location: Beijing
I’ve grown up with Chinese food on the table, there may be an occasional change, but it has been like that for all 15 years of my life. Chinese cuisine is a very special type where each city has its taste, but they are all centered on five flavors: sweet, sour, salt, bitter, spice. Shanghai cuisine is mellow and focuses less on punchy flavors and more subtle and luxurious feel. This is not the case for any other city. Inner Mongolia has heavily spiced and crunchy vegetables paired with softer and very salty meat. Xi a cuisine is tough and strong while Beijing cuisine is like royalty, smooth and balanced. Though all the babbling aside, China’s cuisine is incredible and just so diverse. Every day can be something different, except sweet n’ sour chicken that’s gotta stay. Though even if the food is different, they all taste amazing and I’m always ready for more.
