Hi, It’s Hayes! On our last day, we woke up around seven and had oatmeal for breakfast… yum! There was a lovely surprise of turkey all over our boat this morning as well as our shampoo misplaced and it was the only prank we received the entire trip. Augusta and Violet slept through the process without waking up, so we weren’t quite sure who targeted us. We got ready for a race against sail side, and to prepare, Prentice went with Riley to the meeting about our course. Since we no longer needed the majority of our food, we brought our remaining eggs up to the deck with us, and when the race began, we got close to the Quest boat and attacked. Unfortunately for us, they started throwing food back, and we broke into a food fight. Once that settled down, I got to steer the boat for a bit, and it was very fun, and I think it did a pretty good job. While underway, we individually went to our cabins to pack up all of our belongings, and when we arrived at our final destination, West End, where we started, we began to clean. Because of the high temperatures, the eggs that landed on our boat cooked, and it was very difficult to scrub off, but we all worked together and finished the job. We moved on to deep cleaning the rest of the boat with a lunch break from Pussers, a very popular local restaurant that left everyone happy. After that, Addie, Augusta, Addison, Grace, and Prentice went to shore while Gigi, Violet, and I stayed on the boat. We all got ready for our last barbecue, and before we left the boat, we auctioned off pieces of our flag, and everyone got to see people’s pieces. At the barbecue, the line was a bit frustrating, but the food was worth the wait because it was definitely the best barbecue of the trip. We ended the night with a talk from Mike, the director, and a goodbye to everyone. It’s been a great trip, and I know we are all going to miss it here. Thanks for reading, and we will, y’all! -Hayes
