2018 was a huge year for GoBeyond!
Collectively, GoBeyond students volunteered over 17,000 hours of service around the globe this past summer. From orphanages in China to rainforests in Australia, our students went out in the world and made a difference. Those students who opted to work for 100 hours during their journey earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) – an official recognition from the United States Government of outstanding service to others.
The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation established the award program as a way to thank and honor individuals who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. GoBeyond is able to award the PVSA to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who qualify based on age and the number of service hours accrued during their journey.
For those students who have fulfilled the requirements to earn the PVSA, your pins and certificates have been shipped! Keep an eye out for them in the mail and let us know if you do not receive yours.
