Pura Vida! We’re not even two days into the program, and we’ve already had life-changing experiences! From carrying produce down a hill to tasting the freshest of mangoes, we’re all having a lovely time. Today we traveled to La Carpio, and we were able to get a look at what previous Lifeworks groups had accomplished. We listened to a talk from Gail who started the Humanitarian Foundation that we will be working with as well as getting a chance to visit a daycare so we could practice our Spanish while playing with kids. After that, we traveled up a mountain and visited an indigenous shaman and learned about his tribe and practices. The shaman blessed us in a small ceremony, which was a lovely way to wrap up the day. Overall, we’re all bonding and already so excited and happy with the trip- and psyched to start some serious service projects! Adios!
