Location: Kuranda Rainforest

Today we had an early start for our long bus ride from Townsville to Cairns. It was interesting to see a more rural side of Australia, as we have mainly been in cities on this trip. There was lots of vegetation to see and beautiful mountains. Once we arrived, we took an hour-long cab up a mountain to the rainforest where we will be doing community service later on in the trip. We made jokes about the insects we do not want to see and talked about how everything in Australia is large and deadly. We got set up in our cabins and grew more comfortable with our surroundings and planned our meals while we were here so we could buy the necessary food. Getting to the grocery store was fun because we got to walk on a train track through the rainforest. The walk back was a bit more difficult as we had to carry groceries as well. We cooked pizza for dinner, which was delicious and will be talking about our plans while we are staying here. I am excited for the rest of the trip and hopefully seeing a wild pademelon.
