The first day of the session has finally arrived, and we, the staff members of Aquamarine, cannot wait to meet our new crewmembers. We have been very busy the past few days, restocking the boat with food, sorting out fruits and vegetables, and gathering gear for our projects; preparing for what we hope to be our new shipmates best summer ever! We are so excited to be starting this new program of GoBeyond, and we hope our students are ready to trail blaze (both literally and figuratively) alongside us. Our boat Aquamarine is skippered by Elliot and is supported by Jamie, an EMT, and David. Today GoBeyond has students arriving from all over the world, who felt that this community service experience could enhance their lives. We hope over the next 14 days, and 21 days they will be able to enhance their knowledge about themselves, the community they are serving, all while cultivating new friendships and lending a helping hand to the BVIs following Irma. Thank you to the family and friends of those students who will be joining us today, as we prepare them for what will be the experience of a lifetime!
