Hey, Parents and other family members!
I’m Samaara, here to tell you about our action-packed day. We had an early morning meeting with oatmeal and cereal for breakfast brought to our table by Ella and Adele. Once we finished our meal, we headed in our dinghy to go back to the HLSCC community college to continue our work from yesterday. While waiting to begin our work, Lindsey and Delphine broke out their handstand talents for our entertainment. Of course, we got to work quickly after splitting up into two groups. One to sand down tables and one to continue weeding and catching frogs. Gary came out as MVP after catching around 17 invasive frogs. After a couple of hours of hard work, we were surprised with the most delicious treat out there- ice cream. Devouring our ice cream, we headed back to our dinghy on the dock. While most stayed on shore to get some local lunch, a few others, including me, headed back to enjoy ramen/sandwiches. When we all regrouped, we set underway to head to a new location. Once we had arrived, I helped set the anchor so we could all get started with our ocean showers. Everyone showered as usual, but we were pleasantly surprised with a special twist when Krisz allowed us to jump off the side of a boat for some extra thrill. Today’s shower seemed completely ordinary until, one by one, drops started to come, and soon it was pouring down; turning our salt water showers into fresh water showers (an absolute specialty). We took photos and recorded our vlogs, but just as we were settling down back on the boat, we saw two fins emerge from the water. Gavin, Maeve, and Sanaah were alerted by our screaming and jumped out of the water only to realize it was dolphins instead of sharks that had come for a drive-by. While they were recovering from a heart attack, others jumped back in, excited by this extra special sight. Unfortunately, the dolphins had decided they had enough human interaction for the day and swam away, but the fun didn’t stop there. Zoe, Azi, Adele, Ella, Delphine, and I began to attempt backflips from the dinghy. To our surprise, we all excelled at our flips. Everyone collectively agreed our flips were 10/10. After showing off to a few other boats and attempting duo flips, we climbed back on board to get ready for our 2nd group BBQ. The BBQ was on the beach. Bonfires kept us warm while we watched the sunset. Since it was quite a long day, we headed back to the boat to (watch the documentary/chill, and go to bed)
