Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
This morning we all woke up around seven. Many ended up on the salon floor because they got poured on last night. We had French toast made for breakfast by Toby and Kate, and quickly rafted with another boat called Outhouse. After our initial clean-up, everyone deep-cleaned the entire boat. All of our cushions got taken out and bleach-wiped, and the entire galley and salon were scrubbed from top to bottom. Around 10 am, we all went to hang out on the dive boat for a bit. The Vega kids had their last skill dive, and almost everyone is now certified! The GoBs chilled out on the boat, reading and occasionally taking dips in the water. We all got picked up from Hope and headed home, where we had a quick lunch of Mac and cheese. We broke the raft with Outhouse, and then got Luke from the dive boat before leaving Muskmelon for the last time this summer. On our way out, we thought we saw a shark in the water, but it ended up just being a crab trap in the water.
We had a leisurely sail to Brewers Bay, and Lacey helmed. Once we got to Brewers, everyone swam around for a while, flipping and jumping in the water. Atlin, Toby, Cole, and Luke did some epic backflips, and Liv, Lacey, and I did front flips. After our quick stop, we headed to our home for the night, Sandy Spit. We met up with Sail Side and Dive Side tonight for our second barbecue. Toby gave Will a haircut, and everyone got ready before heading to the beach. We all survived our water entry and had a dinner of hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, and the AQ staple of pineapple juice and Sprite. We got a bunch of photos with the sunset, and talked with some other boats. Once we all met back up on the boat, we did ocean showers, sang a bunch of songs, and looked at the full moon. Everyone is winding down now and about to watch 10 Things I Hate About You. We’re all very excited for race day tomorrow, but everyone is sad our trip is coming to an end soon.
