Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
This epic day started off with bagels and yogurt, assembled by Liv and me for the entire boat. The GoBeyond crew (me, Kate, Maddie, and Scarlet) set off to work at Aragorn‘s shop and hang out on Trellis. Our Vega friends left at around 10 to dive and embark on a hike! They saw many different species of marine life, including a barracuda and a stingray, as well as breathtaking views on the hike. On Trellis, we helped the shop prepare for a hurricane by pruning the trees and palms. We also saw a tarantula and multiple cats that greeted us. After we pruned the trees, some students helped move the fishing nets, and others helped Aragorn clean out trash and wood off the side of his shop. Our friend Drake, whom we met at the farm yesterday, cut coconuts for us to drink and eat. They were delicious and hydrating during the heat. We, the GoBeyond kids, helped Aragorn‘s shop prepare until 12 in the afternoon, when we went to Loose Mongoose for a big lunch. We shared quesadillas, tacos, fries, and refreshments. We went back to work at 1:30 until all the work that had to be done was complete. Teamwork makes the dreamwork! After all of our hard work, we went to the grocery store and we even bought matching t-shirts.
Meanwhile, Vega enjoyed chicken salad wraps after a long day of diving, hiking, and zesting. Finally, we all reunited for dinner, where we enjoyed chili and the amazing views of the BVI. We then watched a movie, baked a cake, and relaxed after a long day for G2BH. See you tomorrow!
