Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay

Hey guys! Bella here as skipper. We are in our final days in the BVIs, and we are having the time of our lives. We woke up pretty early today, 6:30 a.m. because we wanted time to enjoy the delicious French toast and pineapple Riley and Amelia whipped up. Shortly after, we loaded up the dinghy and headed to the dock to catch our taxi ride to our project of the day.

Today, we worked on Aragorns’ Farm, which is built into the hillside. Aragorn was a really interesting person to hear from, and he described to us the methods they use on the farm. They focus on regenerative farming, which is where the natural resources use each other to regenerate themselves. We started off by grabbing some rakes and heading down to the first terrace. We flattened up some beds and planted sun hemp, which they grow until they reach 6-8 feet, cut it down, let it rot, and decompose, allowing the nutrients to go back into the soil and allowing for a healthy and prosperous harvest starting in October. After this, we moved dirt, picked weeds, flattened more terraces, and Amelia and I even got to pick mangos for the group. Annabelle, Ella, and Wheezy spread coconut husks along Maya, and Coco became friends with the farm cat, Bad, who joined us for our lunch of PB&Js. After a long day of work, we brought our tools back to the boat and quickly changed into our bathing suits.

With a UV of 10 today, we were all really hot and tired, so the swim was really refreshing and enjoyable. Soon after, we headed to Sandy Spit to prepare for the BBQ of the evening. Finally, our favorite part of the day arrived: ocean showers. The waters were a little rough, but they were gorgeous (Ima, you would love them). We had a quick get-ready session, and we got dressed for the BBQ. Apparently, it is tradition for the staff to wear their top fashion Dula Mimis, which is always a nice sight to see. Loading up in Blaze yet again, we headed to the small sandy island of Sandy Spit.

This BBQ was awesome. Dive side had prepared food for the whole fleet. We were immediately able to enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, and baked beans if you like. Lia and I shared a hamburger, and we both had hotdogs. The whole night was fun, and we all got to see and talk to our friends on other boats like Avizia, Beso, and Odyssey. At the end of the BBQ, we became friends with Liam, who blasted music on the big speaker, and we danced to the songs Pink Pony Club, Take it Off, and Empire State of Mind. After waiting for Blaze to shuttle other boats back, we hopped on a dinghy and headed back to home base. We ended the night with brownies, Just Go With It, and Squeeze.

Question of the day – If your pet could speak, what sentence would they say?
