Gooodd morning/afternoon/evening campers and others! I, Aubrey, will be your lovely blogger and Skipper of the day for Glad 2 Be Here. Most of the crew had slept outside for the night, though a couple of us opted for the sweaty indoors. Today was a rather slow day, starting off with eating cereal for breakfast, brought to us by BZ, our gopher, Maddie. Afterwards, the washers Atlin, Scarlet, Lacy, and Kate cleaned off our dishishes, the deckies Jonah and Liv swept up, and Leah helped clean up the salon. When everything was shining, we all went out for a lay down of ground rules from the big boss, Mike, that lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes. When all that was over, we were finally able to set sail, motoring our way over to the beach where we had to face the swim tests. A whole five laps around the boat and ten minutes of treading later, we were rewarded with lunch. A build-it-yourself deli sandwich, once again set up by our chefs. Once we all finished up, we were finally able to sail. A couple of us were able to take turns at the wheel, all learning fun new words. A few hours and sunburns later, we anchored down at the beach we‘re now going to spend the night at and started lathering up for our first ocean shower of the trip. Dinner tonight was sloppy joes with salad and corn. Then, we had some downtime before having to split up between boats for lectures on diving. Now, we‘re finally able to settle down and get ready for bed.
