Location: Puerto Viejo
Today we were planning on going to the ocean, but because of the weather, we had a pool day instead. After some swimming, we went to a sloth enclosure where we saw sloths that were injured in the wild and brought there for rehabilitation. We got to see an adorable baby sloth that was only seven months old! Then we went to an indigenous Bri Bri chocolate maker that was very cool. We saw how she made chocolate by hand and got to try many different flavors of chocolate. Afterward, we found out we were temporarily trapped in the town of Puerto Viejo because of a tropical storm. The whole group made the best of a wet situation, and we ended up having a deep conversation about our lives that helped us understand one another better. It was interesting to hear everyone’s stories after a fun and busy day.
