While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and the program at hand. Day 1 (June 22): Students depart from U.S.
Day 2 (June 23): Student arrival day in Beijing; Welcome Dinner
Day 3 (June 24): Morning excursion to the Great Wall; Afternoon service orientation
Day 4 (June 25): Community service day with Roundabout
Day 5 (June 26): Morning excursion to the Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square/Wangfujing; Afternoon Calligraphy/Chinese Painting/Tea Ceremony classes; Evening dinner including traditional Peking Duck
Day 6 (June 27): Community service day with children
Day 7 (June 28): Community service day with children; Overnight train to Xi’an
Day 8 (June 29): Xi’an touring day (Terracotta warriors, City Wall, etc.)
Day 9 (June 30): Continue Xi’an touring; Overnight train back to Beijing
Day 10 (July 1): Community service day with children
Day 11 (July 2): Community service day with Roundabout
Day 12 (July 3): Community service; Visit to the 798 Art District
Day 13 (July 4): Community service day with children
Day 14 (July 5): Excursion to Datong and visit to the Buddhist Caves
Day 15 (July 6): Excursion to the Hanging Monastery; Visit and community service at the Taiyuan Orphanage
Day 16 (July 7): Visit to Dong Er Gou; Return to Beijing
Day 17 (July 8): Community service; Continue Calligraphy/Chinese Painting and Wushu classes
Day 18 (July 9): Community service with Roundabout; Evening “Hot Pot” Dinner
Day 19 (July 10): Community service; Excursion to the Summer Palace and Pearl Market
Day 20 (July 11): Final service day with the children; Lifeworks’ final dinner and closing program
Day 21 (July 12): Students depart for home
