Welcome to the Lifeworks Costa Rica, Session 1 blogs! Below is a little bit about the staff that will be leading this summer. Enjoy!

ANNA CORTEY-MARQUES – Originating from Spain, Anna studied Translation and Interpretation in Barcelona and Germany, where she started her career as a devoted language teacher. Passionate about cultural diversity, she spends every summer promoting positive social interaction through language worldwide. She has extensive experience both guiding students abroad and leading cultural, educational and sports activities. As an adventurer, she is active, happy, in love with the planet and its peoples. She feels delighted to merge her hobbies with her job, and can’t wait for her next summer with Lifeworks!

RENEE PREST – Renee’s love of travel, service, and people began on a high school trip to Trinidad. There she discovered her lifelong passion as an adventurer, learner, teacher, and explorer. Renee is always finding new ways to learn about life. She completed her college degree in Outdoor Education and had traveled and worked in 9 countries around the world. From the cornfields of southern Illinois to the mountains of North Carolina, to the backcountry of Australia and the Mayan Villages of Guatemala. No matter what it is, Renee chooses to do she aims for it to be the best it can be!

MARTIN VICARIO – Martin grew up in San Diego but also spent a great deal of time in his parent’s native country of Argentina. He identifies as bi-cultural, being fluent in both Spanish and English. He is currently a student-athlete at the University of California, Davis studying Sustainable Agriculture and playing Water Polo. As a two-time alumnus of Lifeworks Costa Rica program, Martín hopes to be a part of the students’ life-changing experience by sharing his passion for establishing genuine connections with others and the natural environment. His hobbies include playing and recording music with his band, hiking, farming, and swimming.
