Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Today started at a relaxed pace with a french toast breakfast en route to Road Town. Once in Road Town, we headed over to the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue Headquarters. At the VISAR HQ, Nigel informed us about the various operations and jobs that VISAR does. We then spent the rest of the day working at the VISAR HQ, helping at the non-profit volunteer organization. We cleaned the boat garage and the boat, moved furniture and metal beams around, sorted merchandise and dredged the boat launch. After a quick Ramen noodle lunch, everyone got back to work cleaning the place up, moving things around, organizing and dredging. After working at VISAR for most of the day, we docked at the Moorings Charters headquarters and took a real shower for the first time in three weeks. After we showered, everyone from both boats gathered on Kes Kat where Elliot announced that we were going to be a part of a VISAR training mission. Elliot chose Caroline to be the injured victim for VISAR. Jamie did an incredible job drawing bruises and scratches on Caroline’s leg that was “broken,” while Claire and I made a fake passport and threw together a day pack for the VISAR training. VISAR then took us out on their boat and drove us around at speeds up to 45 miles per hour which was fun. After the VISAR training, David and Elliot picked up pizza for dinner. We ate on the way to the anchorage on Peter Island and moored the boats in the dark.
