Hae from Reykjavik!
Today we woke up a bit late after a sleepy day yesterday and had a slow morning with cereal for breakfast. At 10 am, we were on our way to Thingvellir National Park. Our first stop was Gullfoss, a huge waterfall where we walked around. It was beautiful. Then, we went to see the Geysir or geyser, and it was so cool and surprising! We got lunch, and I got a comfy sweatshirt from the gift shop. Then we saw some horses and they were so sweet! Next, we went to the place called Silfra, where the North American tectonic plate and the Eurasian tectonic plates are separating, and we snorkeled in between the two. It was freezing cold, but it was astonishingly clear and beautiful. Then, we warmed up with some hot chocolate, warm layers, and got home. We had an amazing dinner cooked by Patrick and Keeley of pesto pasta. We did an activity at dinner called squeeze, where we hold hands and the leader of the day (me!) asks a unique question and everyone’s favorite part of the day. My squeeze question was what the coolest place that everyone had visited before. All of the answers were really interesting! Then, we played a bunch of card games and had a good night of group bonding.
