Location: West End, Tortola
We had a late start today with a 7:30 am wake-up. The dog sitters had to go to a staff meeting this morning, and breakfast turned into a war for pancakes. Everyone tried to steal the pancakes from the chefs during the cooking process since it took about an hour. After breakfast, we cleaned up and got ready to climb Spyglass. The staff had to finish some paperwork before Spyglass, so we all chilled on the boat with some music and friendship bracelets. We started our climb around 11:30, and some of us ran up the mountain while others walked. When we got to the top, we reflected over the last few weeks and took some cool selfies. On our way down the mountain, we stopped on a helicopter pad to take a group photo, just like we did the last time we climbed Spyglass. When we got back to the boat, we had a lunch of some leftover foods (hotdogs, ramen, turkey sandwiches). After lunch, we did “boat appreciation,” where we cleaned the entire boat from top to bottom. Then we took our final saltwater showers and got ready for a takeout dinner. The food took a long time, so we all scanned the boat for snacks to eat on the power tower. Next, we had dinner and did a squeeze before cutting up our flag and signing each other’s pieces, doing a final reflective activity, finishing our mooring ball tournament, and having a midnight dance party. During this trip, we all went from a group of strangers to a close-knit group that will always have special bonds. GoBeyond will always hold a special place in so many of our hearts, including mine.
