Location: San Jose, El Rancho
We woke up at our host families for the second last time today. After the brief drive to La Carpio, we chopped vegetables and cooked food that we would later serve at a “soup kitchen” type place in San Jose. I think I speak for everyone when I say this was one of the most interesting things we’ve experienced. We’ve heard all the stories but communicating and being with the homeless directly brought an entirely new perspective on their situation to our attention. We also spent some time playing volleyball and frisbee at a local park and later, before a delicious goodbye dinner, we had a dance class with the man I can easily say is the best dancer in Costa Rica. To finish the night we had a talent show.
