Welcome to the GoBeyond Australia trip logs! Below is a little bit about the staff that will be leading this summer. Enjoy!
JAMES PURCELL – James was born and raised in North Carolina and graduated from the UNC Wilmington in 2007 with degrees in International Business and Spanish. After college, James set off to explore the world backpacking throughout South and Central America, hiking 500 miles along the Camino de Santiago in Spain, working on farms in California and even managing an indoor urban aquaponics farm in Chicago, IL. He currently calls New Orleans, LA home and will be finishing up a degree in nursing by the end of 2017. James has lead GoBeyond programs in Peru, Ecuador/Galapagos, and Costa Rica, and he loves seeing students grow and evolve on GoBeyond trips. He’s also a freelance videographer, an aspiring polyglot, and loves music, travel and raw honey.
JACQUELINE MCCLATCHY – Jack is a full-time traveler currently living in New Zealand. While studying Cultural Anthropology at St. Michael’s College in Vermont, Jack volunteered with the local refugee population. Her work with refugees is where her passion for service learning developed. After a service trip to Peru in 2014, Jack was determined to explore more of our wonderful world and its countless cultures. Since January 2016, she has been living on the road out of her trusty backpack. Besides traveling, Jack loves to practice yoga, dive, read and write Haikus. She is excited to share her passion for travel and service with others!
