Location: Here, there, and everywhere in the Land Down Under!

Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to internet over the course of the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and the program at hand. Please do not call our office regarding these trip logs, as the office does not control the postings or the content of the updates. We appreciate your understanding!

Days 1 & 2 – (June 23rd, 24th) – Fly days; keep in mind that major time zone differences apply.

Day 3 – (June 25th) – Early morning arrival and move to the Bondi Beach YHA hostel; orientation with Staff; surfing lessons in the afternoon; dinner, and a much-needed rest!

Day 4 – (June 26th) – Morning Sydney Opera House tour; Afternoon city exploration (Botanical gardens, local markets, etc…).

Day 5 – (June 27th) – Full day Blue Mountains Tour – Wildlife spotting, hiking trails, and scenic vistas?! Oh My!

Day 6 – (June 28th) – Travel day! Bound for Airlie Beach to meet our sailing vessel, Eureka II.

Days 7, 8, & 9 – (June 29th-July 1st) Sailing the Whitsunday Islands! We will have limited connectivity here (if any) and will do our best to update the Trip Logs as soon as possible.

Day 10 – (July 2nd) – Morning travel to Townsville; Afternoon aquarium visit.

Day 11 – (July 3rd) – Morning visit to Billabong Wildlife Sanctuary (koalas, anyone?); Afternoon visit to Castle Hill lookout and Townsville Promenade.

Day 12 – (Happy 4th of July, America!) – Morning travel to Cairns and worksite in Kuranda.

Days 13 & 14 – (July 5th – 6th) – Service days with Kuranda Envirocare. These days are devoted to protecting the fragile, endemic rainforest species that make Australia unique! 

Day 15 – (July 7th) – Travel day back to Cairns; afternoon Rugby match.

Day 16 – (July 8th) – Morning excursion to Tjapukai Aboriginal Park; afternoon to include local markets and a lesson on Coral Reef Ecology before our diving trip.

Days 17, 18, & 19 – (July 9th – July 11th) Dive, Dive Dive! We will have limited connectivity here (if any) and will do our best to update the Trip Logs as soon as possible.

Day 20 – (July 12th) – Full day whitewater rafting adventure on Australia’s famous Tully River!

Day 21 – (July 13th) – Fair winds and following seas, weary travelers!
