Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to the internet over the course of the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and the program at hand. Please do not call our office regarding these trip logs, as the office does not control the postings or the content of the updates. Thanks very much for your understanding!

Day 1 (July 15) – Students depart from the U.S.; Evening welcome and orientation session at Hosteria Airport Garden

Day 2 (July 16) – Morning group building activities at Parque Itchimbia; Afternoon tour of Quito historical district

Day 3 to 5 (July 17 to 19) – Excursion into the rural Andes Mountains (near Chugchilan); Activities include the beautiful Quilotoa crater, hiking, horseback riding, zip lining, and a traditional market visit

Day 6 (July 20) – Scenic drive to Quito; Student rest, downtime, and packing for the Galapagos

Day 7 to 10 (July 21 to 24) – Transfer to the Galapagos; Begin 4 day/3 night Nemo I boat tour including snorkeling, hiking, wildlife viewing, and nature study (Baltra, Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, Santa Fe, Plaza Sur islands)

Day 11 to 13 (July 25 to 27) – Community service projects and island exploration with the Galapagos National Park Service

Day 14 (July 28) – Return to Quito; Student rest, downtime, and packing for the Amazon

 

Day 15 to 19 (July 29 to August 2) – Excursion into the Amazon rainforest; Activities including wildlife viewing, nature study, indigenous demonstrations and cultural activities, and community service work with the Sumak Allpa organization

Day 20 (August 3) – Whitewater rafting excursion; GoBeyond closing program and final dinner

Day 21 (August 4) – Student transfers to the airport, final goodbyes, and departures for home
