Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Hey guys! Maya here taking over as skipper for the day. Today marks our first full week on board this floating pile of metal, and let me tell you, we’ve learned tons, faced some fears, made friends, and sweat more than I ever thought imaginable. We started off today with a late wake-up at 7:15 (so late). For breakfast, we ate scrambled eggs and the best cinnamon muffins I’ve ever had, courtesy of Bella. We made our way to Cibony School for our last day working with Julie, with hopes of finishing up both the tortoise enclosure and the boat-shaped play structure. The group working on the tortoise enclosure (Coco, Lia, Amelia, Bella, Siena, and Heloise) did a great job finishing the pond, garden, and fence and even had time to paint it! The sailboat group, on the other hand (Annabelle, Ella, Riley, and I), was not as productive and didn’t exactly finish the boat… We did however get much better at using a drill (or an impact as Riley insistently calls it), and did the best we could to give the kids a new space to play. After a full day of work, some of us (Lia, Bella, Amelia, and Ella) took a quick dip in the ocean before it was time to set sail. Since this was our last day volunteering at Cibony School, it was time to leave Spanish Town and go over to Mountain Point, where we were spending the night. We had dinner while sailing, which was supposed to be made by Riley and Bella, but Riley was busy fixing the boat, so Annabelle stepped in to help Bella with dinner. It was Mexican night tonight, and it was definitely one of my favorite meals. I must not be alone on this because Aiden from a boat called Under Pressure also joined us for dinner tonight! As the sun was setting, we took our daily ocean shower. At the start of this eventful week, I wasn’t a big fan of showering in the ocean, but now it’s just another fun time with everyone on the boat. After this, we finished the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie and started Mamma Mia. That’s it for today!
Question of the day: Where is one place you want to go and why?
