Hi everyone! This is Lia as skipper today. Where do I start?? We had a long day of fun after a few days of enjoyable service. We started off the day back in Savanah Bay with delicious pancakes made by Ella and Coco, with much-needed help from Siena, Helouise, and Riley, with meals throughout the day. These fueled us up for water sports we have been looking forward to since the beginning. After learning the UV was going to be ten today(Mom and Dad, you know that’s my favorite thing to check), we split up into groups, taking turns wakeboarding and knee-boarding off of Sumo while the rest were back on the boat using the boom swing and attending dinghy school. Amelia, Bella, Annabelle, and I started on Sumo, and I would agree that Amelia took the gold medal in wakeboarding, doing spins and jumps while the rest of us could barely get up… maybe next time. There was a good effort by Annabelle, Maya, Ella and I though, trying both. The first group got the honor of seeing another sea turtle coming up to breathe, spotted by Bella. After taking speedy joy rides, we thank Helouise for those.

In the other group(Maya, Coco, and Ella), only Maya could brave the boom swing. The boom swing is when we hang a rope from the boom of the sail and are able to swing from it into the beautiful blue water. We all took turns on Blaze and learned safety and how to drive it. Only Ella and Amelia could start it as most of us were not strong enough… We practiced what we should do if someone were to fall out of the dinghy. I would NOT recommend falling out. You may get run over or stranded by some of us. After all of this, we had a delicious lunch of many grilled cheeses and white bean soup.

We had the treat of using the Zest sailboats. Bella and Amelia were on one boat, while Annabella and I were on another. We all capsized at least twice each due to how stressed we were every time we picked up speed (I am very grateful for my little experience from camp).

After cleaning up, we all got ready to set sail. Everyone took a nice rest on the way to Marina Bay across from Tortola, where the whole fleet is anchored for the night. However, along the way, we had to rescue the Zest boats that we were towing behind us. Unfortunately, Heloise and Siena had to save the boats, and Siena ultimately had to jump into the rough waters.

Once we arrived, we started my favorite part of the day: ocean showers. Except today, there were LOTS of jellyfish, so we had to jump in and out quickly while everyone else kept watch. Thankfully, no one was stunk. While dinner was being made since many of the boats were anchored so close to each other, we did some entertaining people-watching, and we saw some food fights go down. Dinner tonight was Thanksgiving dinner, which included chicken, stuffing, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes. So yummy, I discovered I only like prepackaged stuffing. Sadly, this dinner resulted in a messy dishy pit.

Finally, we ended the night with a tough lifeworks forum where we listened to a speaker. Jim Tuman talked about having a good outlook on life and how to expect the unexpected because nothing is set in stone. I think many of us learned a lot from this and will be able to view new situations differently due to this. Now we are settled in, many of us catching up on our personal journals that we will be able to share with all of you when we see you soon.

Question of the day: What is your favorite late-night snack or meal?
