Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Waking up this morning was slightly easier, and the first thing we did was head to Norman Island for an early morning hike. We met the other two GoBeyond boats on the dock and headed up to the top of Spyglass Hill, one of the best views in the entire BVI. At the top, we all wrote our goals for the trip and spent a moment admiring the incredible view. Then we headed back down and went back to our own boats for a three-hour sail to Virgin Gorda. I had the job of skipper today, so I got to steer the boat for a while, and it felt really cool to steer a sailboat for the first time. Once we got to Savannah Bay in Virgin Gorda, we anchored and met the other two GoBeyond boats at the beach to gather supplies for our first service project tomorrow. We walked to the other end of the island and made an assembly line to pick up wood that washed up on the beach and bring it to the side of the road. After we finished that, we finally got to go to the beach and relax for a little bit. Being with the other boats today was nice because we got to meet even more new people, and we saw everyone who was in the program this summer. The days keep getting better, and I’m so excited for everything coming up.
