Day 13! Today we had a very busy day ahead of us! It started off at 9 am when we carried large wooden palettes from the house to the school and then further to the garden area at the back of the schoolyard – alongside EXTREMELY heavy logs, paint, and thinner. We then began to work. It began with everyone in different stations; Bella and Abby teaching English, Wesley sanding palettes, David and Emilio building the first fence and me taking the nails out of large logs. A couple of hours later, we had lost our energy, but eventually, we got to have our break and had a light, energizing snack. After snacks, some of us painted fences and put them up, while the others began to dig holes for the logs that the benches will be nailed onto later.
Around 1: 15, we went for lunch where we had the famous Peruvian dish, Lomo saltado! It. Was. Delicious! Once we finished up, we headed straight back and finished up sanding, chiseling clean and putting together the logs for the benches. We got back to the house around 5:30, when we had some pizza and watched some Brooklyn nine-nine and The Meg until the Peru vs. Chile game had begun. It was an amazing game, and Peru won 3-0! It was a fully deserved win because they played very well! There were celebrations everywhere in Peru, and people were playing drums and going around the city holding the Peru flag in their cars outside our house! It was hilarious because people were going crazy with happiness. Today was a great day, and we can’t wait for the rest of this awesome trip!
