Helllloooo, family and friends!
Skipper Gigi is reporting from Hagen Time. It’s day ten! Do you know what that means??? We had a very chill and relaxed day today! It also means that we are halfway through :(. The day started off with the boat being underway. Riley (the skipper) was a trooper and had the boat moving before any of us got up and braved the storm that brewed ahead. I joined him on deck to lay out in the falling rain to, you know, keep him company. Breakfast was eaten fast as it was breakfast burritos made by the fabulous chefs Addy and Grace. Immediately following after, we were dinghied to land to start our projects. Today, we walked down a boardwalk at a local community college and cut the mangroves that were growing over the path. It’s important for it to be cut so they can use the path, obviously.
We settled inside for a little break, and lunch was picked up. We had chicken wings and fries, as well as chicken and veggie wraps. It was soooo scrumptious. After lunch, we were pushed out into the ocean on some kayaks to pick up the trash around the mangroves. Addison and Violet had a bunch in their buckets. There were a lot of shipwrecks where we were (we were not in the middle of the ocean, FYI, I was being dramatic), so there was a large amount of trash buried deep in the mud. After our butts got soaked, we ventured back to our boat, the party boat, to take a little fifteen-minute trip to where we were staying for the night.
Hayes was captured in her book the entire time. After we dropped anchor we had time to shower before dinner had to be finished. We had Thanksgiving dinner today. It was chicken with mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and green bean casserole. That was delish. We cleaned up fast so we could watch the movie for tonight. (We’ve been extra good to deserve a movie.) After some debate while washing dishes, with Prentice and Augusta on whether we should watch Mean Girls or not, we settled on Prides and Prejudice. All and all it was a very nice day, it was kinda like a breather compared to other work we’ve done. I miss all of you guys! I love you all so much. My heart hurts! <3
